DESCRIPTION:Trying Together will host an UnConference focused on kindergarten transition on Monday\, February 16 at the Allegheny Intermediate Unit. \nLearn More \nTrying Together’s UnConference is an innovative\, hands-on professional development training format where a deeper experience is provided around a particular theme related to early childhood education. Speakers are invited to present and participants are encouraged to engage hands-on in the workshops. \nRegistration for the UnConference is now open. \nDetails\n\nMonday\, February 16\, 2026\n8 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.\nAllegheny Intermediate Unit (475 E Waterfront Dr\, Homestead\, PA 15120)\n$25 (Registration is required)\n\nFree parking will be available in the AIU parking lot\, and overflow parking is available across the street. \nA light breakfast with coffee and tea will be available and lunch will be provided as a part of the registration fee. \nThe UnConference will begin with a keynote presentation by Swati Adarkar (Former Deputy\nAssistant Secretary\, Policy and Early Learning\, Office of Elementary and Secondary Education for the Department of Education under the Biden administration)\, followed by an insightful panel of experts aimed at supporting and improving on-time Kindergarten registration and Kindergarten readiness. Participants will attend two sessions led by local and national early childhood organizations-  one in the morning and one after lunch. All other available seating will be on a first come\, first served basis. \nFree parking will be available in the Rivers Casino parking garage. Valet parking is also available for a $12 fee. \nIt is recommended that VIP Reception guests dress in cocktail attire. While we have never had a formal dress code for the dinner\, many have used it as an opportunity to dress up. \nVegetarian\, vegan and gluten-free options will be available. Certified kosher meals can be made available upon request at the time of registration. \nRivers Casino is ADA compliant. Language interpretation and audio/visual assistance can be provided upon request when indicated at the time of registration. VIP Reception and dinner seating will be reserved for those who indicate accessibility needs at the time of registration. \nCelebrating Together is a fundraising event to support Trying Together. No refunds will be provided after VIP Reception or Dinner registration is confirmed\, or in the event of a no-show. If the event is cancelled\, only VIP Reception ticket holders will receive a refund of the fair market value of their ticket ($250 dollars).

DESCRIPTION:Trying Together will present a session at the 13th Annual Disability and Mental Health Summit on Thursday\, May 7 and have a table at its resource fair. \nLearn More\nThe summit will be co-hosted by state Reps. Jessica Benham (D-36th District) and Emily Kinkead (D-20th District) at the CCAC – Allegheny Campus\, located at 818 Ridge Avenue. \nTrying Together will host one of the sessions at the summit and set up a table during its resource fair. \nThe summit is a free event that brings hundreds of people and participating organizations together to share information on a wide variety of topics in the disability and mental health arena. Its aim is to bring resources and experts out of their office and into a single\, easy-to-access environment in which people can meet face-to-face to better solve problems and enhance futures. \nThis year will have a larger resource fair\, more free information sessions than last year\, and a greater partnership with schools that will bring even more transition-aged young adults to the event to help them figure out their next steps. \nRegistration is open.
