DESCRIPTION:Brown Mamas and the Birthing Hut are hosting their first Black Maternal Health celebration from April 11 – 18\, 2021. Join them for a series of free events centered on wellness\, birthing\, and justice. \nAbout\nThis celebration gives birthing and non-birthing mothers and fathers a chance to connect with their bodies\, learn about how to birth in ways that are beneficial for mothers and families\, and be educated on current fights for reproductive justice in our country. Events include the following: \nWellness Movement for Mamas\nSunday\, April 11\, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. \nYoga\, breathwork\, meditation\, and womb-awareness hula hooping are on the agenda for this four-hour Wellness Movement Session. Please share this flyer with your networks. \nSessions\nSession 1: Fathers will learn how they can support a child experiencing grief/loss. \n\nJuly 12\, 2021 | 6-7 p.m.\n\nSession 2: Fathers will learn of activities to celebrate those who have transitioned. \n\nJuly 19\, 2021 | 6-7 p.m.\n\nSession 3: Fathers will learn strategies to monitor their child’s overall development. \n\nJuly 26\, 2021 | 6-7 p.m.\n\nSession 4: Fathers will learn how to maximize their child’s their child’s achievement through education and advocacy sharing. \n\nAugust 2\, 2021 | 6-7 p.m.\n\nSession 5: Fathers will learn simple age/developmentally appropriate ways to stay active. \n\nAugust 9\, 2021 | 6-7 p.m.\n\nSession 6: Fathers will learn strategies for developing a healthy lifestyle with their child. \n\nAugust 16\, 2021 | 6-7 p.m.\n\nSession 7: Fathers will learn how to grow fruits and vegetables. Fathers and children will explore healthy eating habits because you are what you eat. \n\nAugust 23\, 2021 | 6-7 p.m.\n\nSession 8: Fathers will learn about growing/farming produce. Fathers will receive the materials necessary to plant and grow vegetables/fruits of their choice with their child. \n\nAugust 30\, 2021 | 6-7 p.m.
