DESCRIPTION:Fort Health and the Child Mind Institute will host a free webinar that addresses mental health outcomes among Black and Hispanic youth. \nLearn More\nThe goal of Paths to Equity: Addressing Mental Health Disparities for Black and Hispanic Youth is to provide actionable advice for caregivers\, educators\, primary care providers\, and communities to address challenges. \nThe suicide rate among Black youth is rising faster than other racial or ethnic group in the United States. At school\, Black and mixed-race students are 3.5 times more likely to be suspended than their white peers. Hispanic youth are 60% more likely than their white peers to report poor or reduced mental health\, but are 43% less likely to receive care. \nTopics\nThe webinar’s topics will include: \n\nExamining the causes of mental health disparities among Black and Hispanic youth\nDiscussing how schools\, culturally competent care\, early intervention\, and practical skills for caregivers can help improve outcomes\nLearning about available resources and programs\n\nThe webinar will begin at 5:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday\, Nov. 20. \nRegistration for the webinar is now open.

DESCRIPTION:Trying Together and ELRC Region 5 are partnering to provide a hybrid First Aid\, Pediatric First Aid\, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)\, and automated external defibrillator (AED) training to early childhood professionals. \nAbout the Course\nThis PQAS-certified blended learning course consists of an in-person class and online coursework.  The course provides life-saving skills in alliance with The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)’s Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs. \nThe online coursework must be completed prior to the in-person class. Access to the online coursework will be provided via email upon completion of registration. Allow yourself 3-4 hours to complete. We advise completing the online coursework at least 48 hours prior to your in-person course. You will need to provide proof of completion by providing a copy of your completion email either printed or on your mobile device of class in order to participate in the in-person class portion of the training. \nCertification will be issued upon successful completion of the course. DESCRIPTION:Brazelton Touchpoints Center will host an upcoming program that focuses on building strong family-child relationships from birth through age 5. \nLearn More\nThe How of Child and Family Engagement is an intensive training program that introduces the Touchpoints Approach\, which is an evidence-based approach to building strong family-child relationships. Participants who implement Touchpoints in their practice will partner with families to lay the vital foundation for children’s early learning and healthy development. \nThe course consists of 28 training hours\, including six monthly one-hour virtual reflective practice sessions. Attendance is required at all live sessions\, each of which is four hours long. Participants who complete the course will receive a certificate of attendance. The course is approved for 20.35 continuing education credits for physicians\, nurses\, social workers\, and psychologists. \nParticipants will learn: \n\nStrategies for building partnerships with parents that promote family strengths\nA framework to understand why children’s behavior can sometimes be challenging and confusing\nTechniques for talking with families about child development concerns\nHow to actively listen to families and collaboratively solve problems related to child development or a child-family relationship\n\nMore Details\nThe course costs $795 per seat.
