DESCRIPTION:Earn your credentials online with Clarion University’s PA School-Age (SAC) Professional Credential\, accessible to all school-age providers throughout Pennsylvania. The SAC Credential is a competency based program modeled after the Child Development Associate (CDA). It provides individuals working in school-age programs the opportunity to examine their work in relation to the Pennsylvania School-Age Care Competency Standards and to: \n\nGet feedback and support from people who have experience working with school-age children and knowledge about school-age services.\nImprove his/her knowledge and skills in ways that are satisfying for themselves and beneficial for children.\nEarn a professional credential that is recognized throughout the Pennsylvania and Keystone STARS Continuous Quality Improvement System.\n\nThe SAC credential is open to individuals who have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED and have worked at least 480 hours with school-age children in the past five years. \nThe anticipated start date is October 2nd\, with weekly classes held on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. \nThe registration fee is $130.00\, but this covers the cost of books\, use of Adobe Connect\, and assessment fees upon completion of 120 hours of instruction. DESCRIPTION:Professionals who work with infants\, young children & their families (pregnancy through age eight)\, are invited to join PaTTAN Harrisburg for “Keeping Babies and Children in Mind”. \nSeries Objectives\nThis series is comprised of seven\, three-hour workshops to: \n\npromote awareness about the unique social and emotional development of our youngest children;\nenhance the importance of reflective caregiving and parenting towards building resilience;\nand reflect on the centrality of forming relationships and social connections in practice.\n\nAlthough the workshops are designed to be taken in order\, each workshop will be able to stand alone. DESCRIPTION:In partnership with the Southwest Regional Key\, Westmoreland County Community College is offering a series of professional development courses that can be taken individually as workshops or as a full 3-hour college credit course. \nView the listing of individual workshop courses.  \nCredited college courses being offered are: \n\nECE 183-KU Creative Experiences – September 6\, 2018— April 11\, 2019; Thursdays 6-9 p.m.;\nWestmoreland-New Kensington\nECE 186-KU Family & Society – September 11\, 2018— April 30\, 2019; Tuesdays 6-9 p.m.;\nWestmoreland-Latrobe\nECE 190-KU- Child Health\, Safety & Nutrition – January 14—April 29\, 2019; Mondays 6-9 p.m.;\nWestmoreland-Fayette\n\nEach course is 3 college credits and can be applied towards an Associate degree at Westmoreland. Tuition is $210 per course and $100 for the textbook.
