SUMMARY:Weathering the Storm: Keeping Immigrants and their Families Covered During the Medicaid Unwinding
DESCRIPTION:The 2020 Families First Coronavirus Response Act created a continuous coverage requirement\, ensuring that anybody enrolled in Medicaid would stay enrolled without going through the process of redeterminations. However\, on April 1\, 2023 the pandemic-era’s continuous coverage requirement will come to an end. States will have 12 months to initiate Medicaid redeterminations for more than 80 million people nationwide. \nAlthough this “unwinding” puts all people enrolled in Medicaid at risk of coverage loss\, immigrants and their family members face unique obstacles to remaining covered. These include language barriers\, privacy concerns\, and fear of immigration-based consequences. SUMMARY:Buzzword Day at the Theatre!
DESCRIPTION:The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has a special opportunity for children and their families who engage with Buzzword to get free tickets to “Buzzword Day at the Theatre!” This unique event features a “Big Bubble Bonanza” showing at the Byham Theater. \nPre-registration is required. The Cultural Trust has 100 free tickets (4 tickets per family) available for this event\, which include a free snack and transportation (from The Homewood Early Learning Hub & Family Center OR The Kingsley Association to the Byham Theatre). Tickets are available on a first come\, first served basis. \nWhen: \nSunday\, March 19\, at 2 p.m. (transportation departs at 1 p.m.) \nCaregivers and parents can register for this special event online*\, by attending a Buzzword programming event on March 1 (this event has passed and registration is closed)\, or by calling (412) 456-2695. \n*UPDATE: The registration form for this event has been deactivated and is closed to any further submissions.
