Match content and format to find just what you need\, just when you need it. Bring your own device (BYOD) so that you can dig in and explore. Resources include tools to prevent suspension and expulsion\, coaches’ kits matched to observation/assessment results\, guides for families about teaching self-control and more. DESCRIPTION:Earn your credentials online with Clarion University’s PA School-Age (SAC) Professional Credential\, accessible to all school-age providers throughout Pennsylvania. The SAC Credential is a competency based program modeled after the Child Development Associate (CDA). It provides individuals working in school-age programs the opportunity to examine their work in relation to the Pennsylvania School-Age Care Competency Standards and to: \n\nGet feedback and support from people who have experience working with school-age children and knowledge about school-age services.\nImprove his/her knowledge and skills in ways that are satisfying for themselves and beneficial for children.\nEarn a professional credential that is recognized throughout the Pennsylvania and Keystone STARS Continuous Quality Improvement System.\n\nThe SAC credential is open to individuals who have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED and have worked at least 480 hours with school-age children in the past five years. \nThe anticipated start date is October 2nd\, with weekly classes held on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. \nThe registration fee is $130.00\, but this covers the cost of books\, use of Adobe Connect\, and assessment fees upon completion of 120 hours of instruction. The conference is open to youth practitioners who want to increase their skills in working with youth in out-of-school time programs or mentoring relationships. \n  \nAbout the Keynote Speaker: Diana Laufenberg\nDiana was a secondary social studies teacher for 16 years\, and currently serves as the Executive Director for Inquiry Schools\, a non-profit she started in partnership with Chris Lehmann\, to create and support student centered learning environments that are inquiry driven\, project based\, and utilize modern learning techniques. Diana was featured on TED.com for her “How to Learn? From Mistakes” talk\, and recognized for earning National Board Certification. Her publications include a featured piece on the New York Times Learning blog\, co-authoring a chapter in an educational leadership book\, and an article in the Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy.
