To support participation\, a stipend of $40 will be offered. A child care reimbursement will be offered if needed to participate in the Cafes. SUMMARY:Trauma-Informed Care Workshops
DESCRIPTION:Join Pitt SHRS Wellness Pavilion and Homewood CEC for free virtual workshops that will help prepare participants to address and prevent the traumatic impact of adversities in childhood. \nAbout\nResearch shows that 67 percent of the population has experienced at least one Adverse Childhood Experience. These trauma-based adversities are predictive of many toxic physical\, mental\, and social outcomes throughout a person’s lifetime. As a society\, we need to be better informed and prepared to prevent and address the traumatic impact of childhood adversities. \nFeatured Workshops\nThe following workshops are open to caregivers\, community residents\, neighborhood schools\, community organizations\, and anyone who works with youth: \nTrauma 101\nApril 5\, 2021  |  9:00 – 11:00 a.m. \nIn this multi-media\, interactive workshop\, participants will work together to build a powerful image that helps them appreciate the complex nature of trauma and its aftermath. \nTrauma 102\nApril 12\, 2021  | 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. \nThis workshop will build on the information discussed in the first training session.
