All documents relating to this part of the evening are available online. \nThis will be followed by keynote speaker Karen Nemeth\, whose expertise is supporting educators to provide high-quality experiences for multi-language learners. She will share her wisdom on creating classrooms where all children can succeed. \nA tour of Westmoreland’s makerspace\, MADE@Westmoreland\, will take place at 5 p.m. for those who are interested. MADE offers workshops designed for all skill levels and provides access to industry-grade equipment\, such as 3D printers\, laser cutters\, and CNC machines. \nTo honor the event’s theme of universality and Fred Rogers’ ideal that caring for our neighbors is a sacred act\, there will be a sweater collection for adults and children at the event. DESCRIPTION:The Homewood Early Learning Hub & Family Center is hosting a three-part series monthly for caregivers that will cover everything from ancestral food traditions and nature-based healing to lifestyle transformation. Families that attend all three sessions will receive a $50 gift card. \nThe Stronger Together: DAWA Ancestral Wellness Series will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the following Fridays – April 10\, May 8\, and June 12 at the Homewood Early Learning Hub & Family Center. \nSession 1\nThe April 10 session\, Remembering Our Roots: Ancestral Foodways\, will enable participants to explore ancestral food traditions and how disconnection from traditional ways of eating has affect community health. \nActivities include group memory sharing of foods\, remedies\, and rituals from childhood; an introduction to ancestral wellness principles\, beginning guided DAWA wellness journals\, and creating an herbal infusion (tincture or oxymel) to take home at the end of the series. \nSession 2\nThe May 8 session\, Listening to the Body and Nature as Medicine\, blends organ wellness and nature-based healing\, teaching participants how to listen to their bodies while reconnecting with the earth. \nTopics will include understanding body signals and signs of imbalance\, organ wellness\, simple seasonal ancestral cleansing practices\, and grounding\, sunlight\, fresh air\, and basic plant medicine. \nActivities during this session include body-awareness practices\, creating an organ-support herbal blend\, and planting seeds to take home and nurture. The session will also include time for journal reflection. \nSession 3\nThe June 12 session\, Creating Our New Life: Vision and Commitment\, will enable participants to complete their herbal infusion from the first week and engage in a session focused on identity\, affirmations\, and lifestyle transformation. \nActivities during this session include straining and bottling herbal infusion\, a DIY herbal tea station\, affirmation board creation\, and a final sharing circle during which participants will present their personal wellness commitments. \n

All other available seating will be on a first come\, first served basis. \nFree parking will be available in the Rivers Casino parking garage. Valet parking is also available for a $12 fee. \nIt is recommended that VIP Reception guests dress in cocktail attire. While we have never had a formal dress code for the dinner\, many have used it as an opportunity to dress up. \nVegetarian\, vegan and gluten-free options will be available. Certified kosher meals can be made available upon request at the time of registration. \nRivers Casino is ADA compliant. Language interpretation and audio/visual assistance can be provided upon request when indicated at the time of registration. VIP Reception and dinner seating will be reserved for those who indicate accessibility needs at the time of registration. \nCelebrating Together is a fundraising event to support Trying Together. No refunds will be provided after VIP Reception or Dinner registration is confirmed\, or in the event of a no-show.
