SUMMARY:Lead Early: Parent Leadership Series
DESCRIPTION:The Lead Early Initiative will host a series of four upcoming sessions on how navigate early intervention. \nThe initiative was created to empower family members engaged in early intervention services for children\, birth to age 5. \nParticipants in the sessions will learn how to: \n\nSuccessfully navigate infant-toddler and preschool early intervention\nLearn how to lead the change that they would like to see to make sure early intervention works for everyone.\n\nDuring the sessions\, participants will learn how to build a strong foundation in family advocacy by understanding disability rights and defining advocacy goals\, learning how Pennsylvania’s early intervention system works and how to navigate barriers to support\, learning about the transition to kindergarten and ways to promote inclusion in preschool\, and turning advocacy into action by using data and exploring ways to create change while prioritizing self-care. \nThe sessions will run from noon to 1:30 p.m. on the following Tuesdays: \n\nSeptember 29 (Advocacy Mindset and Shared Purpose)\nOctober 6 (How Early Intervention Works)\nOctober 13 (Navigating Systems and Accessing Services)\nOctober 20 (Using Your Voice to Make Change)\n\nFor more information\, check out this flyer.
