DESCRIPTION:The CitiParks Office of Special Events has announced its Dollar Bank Cinema in the Park schedule for the summer. This year’s selection includes several blockbusters of recent years as well as animated classics and an independent film. \nLearn More\nMoviegoers can bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy movies under the stars at various neighborhood locations. All screenings are free and begin at dusk. \nIn June\, screenings will include the recent hits “Barbie\,” “Kung Fu Panda 4\,” and “Wonka” as well as longtime favorites “Toy Story” and “Pete’s Dragon.” Screenings will take place at Arsenal Park\, Banksville Park\, Brookline Memorial Park\, Flagstaff Hill\, Grandview Park Bandstand\, Highland Park\, McBride Park\, Ormsby Park\, Riverview Park (following Stars at Riverview concerts)\, Schenley Plaza\, and the West End/Elliott Overlook. \nAudio descriptive services will be available for two films – “Wonka” on June 23 at Schenley Plaza and “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” on July 20 in Riverview Park. \nA special presentation of “The Peanut Butter Falcon” will be held in collaboration with Film Pittsburgh on July 28. DESCRIPTION:Brazelton Touchpoints Center is offering a course that aims to enhance the provider-parent partnership and engage parents and other caregivers in planning for their child’s developmental needs. \nLearn More\n“Development is a Journey: A Conversation Roadmap for Talking with Families” is a three-hour course that will take place on June 13. \nEarly identification and intervention are critical to promote a child’s development. However\, developmental screening results and concerns can cause anxiety for families and providers. Brazelton Touchpoints Center has developed a tool to help providers have collaborative and productive conversations with families about developmental screening results. \nIn this workshop\, participants will: \n\nExplore the seven steps in the roadmap tool\nLearn strategies to engage parents and families in the developmental screening process\nPractice having conversations about developmental screening results that honor families’ perspectives\, cultures\, and values\nLearn strategies to elicit parents’ observations of their children’s strengths as well as their concerns about their children’s behavior and development\nPractice sharing their own observations of children’s behavior with parents\nPractice next steps when a developmental screener yields reason for concern\n\nThe live\, interactive webinar will run from noon to 3 p.m. ET and 9 a.m. to noon PT on Thursday\, June 13.
