SUMMARY:Pittsburgh Announces Summer Concert Series Presented by Citizens
DESCRIPTION:Pittsburgh’s CitiParks Office of Special Events has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2024 Summer Concert Series Presented by Citizens. This year’s four concert series will feature 23 free events\, including a July 14 performance by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. \nStars at Riverview will showcase local artists on Saturday evenings in Riverview Park throughout June and July. Each week\, concerts supported by the Allegheny Regional Asset District (RAD) will be followed by Dollar Bank’s Cinema in the Park. \nBach\, Beethoven\, and Brunch will bring classical melodies to Mellon Park. This year marks the return of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra to this program. The Highland Park lawn will host local musicians in the Reservoir of Jazz series\, which take place on Sunday afternoons in August. The concerts are followed by Summer Soul Line Dancing sessions. \nThis year’s Jam at Grandview on Mt. Washington will take place on five Saturdays in August. SUMMARY:MuseumLab: Genius\, Joy & Love
DESCRIPTION:Genius\, Joy\, and Love is a five-day intensive summer institute that will bring together Black youth and adult educators to explore putting racial justice and equity into practice. \nLearn More\nThe institute is aimed at Black youth between the ages of 14 and 22. It will explore questions of how to elevate genius in oneself and one’s community as well as how to center love and wellness in education. \nEach day of the institute will involved a workshop with a leading social justice researcher and/or advocate. There will also be activities that explore the workshop’s topic through poetry\, art\, and song as well as healing and wellness activities. \nThe sessions will include guided action planning sessions that support fellows to put their learning into practice and make changes in their communities. \nSelected fellows will receive a $500 stipend. \nMore Details\nSessions will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 29 through Aug. 2 at MuseumLab\, located at 6 Allegheny Square E. SUMMARY:American Red Cross First Aid\, Pediatric First Aid\, CPR\, and AED Training
DESCRIPTION:Trying Together and ELRC Region 5 are partnering to provide a hybrid First Aid\, Pediatric First Aid\, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)\, and automated external defibrillator (AED) training to early childhood professionals. \nAbout the Course\nThis PQAS-certified blended learning course consists of an in-person class and online coursework. The course provides life-saving skills in alliance with The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)’s Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs. \nThe online coursework must be completed prior to the in-person class. Access to the online coursework will be provided via email upon completion of registration. Access to the online coursework will be provided via email upon completion of registration. Allow yourself three to four hours to complete. \nWe advise completing the online coursework at least 48 hours prior to your in-person course. You will need to provide proof of completion by providing a copy of your completion email either printed or on your mobile device of class in order to participate in the in-person class portion of the training. \nCertification will be issued upon successful completion of the course.
