DESCRIPTION:The Pittsburgh Learning Collaborative is hosting a Transportation Lunch & Learn in March\, during which Pittsburgh’s Safe Routes to School Coordinator will present. \nLearn More\nHarriet Jackson\, Pittsburgh’s Safe Routes to School Coordinator\, will give a presentation on the city’s programs to increase the number of students biking and walking to school through education\, encouragement\, and safety improvements. She will discuss such improvements as Safety Week\, Walk and Roll to School Day\, and the Safety Town Summer Program. \nTed King-Smith\, BikePGH’s education manager\, will discuss ways in which BikePGH is promoting active transportation to schools and supporting teachers\, parents\, and other educators in implementing bike education programming in Pittsburgh city schools. \nThe Lunch & Learn will begin at noon on Thursday\, March 27 at One Valley at The Roadhouse\, located at 4165 Blair St. in Pittsburgh. DESCRIPTION:Women for a Healthy Environment will host a Youth Panel Discussion on climate change in March. \nLearn More\nInspired by the documentary “Youth v. Gov\,” the panel will feature young leaders who are advocating for climate action\, policy change\, and a sustainable future. These leaders are taking steps to confront the climate crisis head-on. \nAttendees are encouraged to watch the documentary on Netflix ahead of the panel. The film tells the story of 21 young Americans who filed a landmark constitutional lawsuit against the federal government for failing to protect their future. \nThe panel will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:3o p.m. on Thursday\, March 27.  Registration for the free event is now open.

SUMMARY:2025 Allegheny County Legislative Forum on Education
DESCRIPTION:The Allegheny Intermediate Unit will host the annual Allegheny County Legislative Forum on Education in late March. \nLearn More\nThe forum will tackle a variety of issues affecting public education in Allegheny County and Pennsylvania. Questions will be submitted by an audience of educators\, administrators\, parents\, and other stakeholders. \nThose interested in attending can do so in person or online. For those attending in person\, the event will take place at the AIU Central Office\, located at 475 Waterfront Drive in Homestead. Those attending virtually can do so through Zoom. \nThe panel will include Allegheny County state legislators and will be moderated by former KDKA-TV reporter Jon Delano. \nThe forum will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday\, March 27. The program will conclude by 8:30 p.m. and will be followed by a meet-and-greet with legislators.
