DESCRIPTION:Join WQED and PBS EdCamp for an unconference like no other.  \nWhat makes edcampPGH an unconference?  \nUnlike traditional conferences scheduled months in advance by the people running the conference\, participants at edcampPGH create the agenda during the event. \nEdcamps are participatory. They depend on discussions and hands-on sessions. Sponsors don’t have their own special sessions or tables. All of the space and time are reserved for the things people want to talk about. \nBuilt on principles of connected learning\, edcampPGH strives to bring teachers together to talk about the things that matter most to them: their interests\, passions\, and experience.  \nTeachers who attend edcampPGH can choose to lead their own sessions on things that matter\, with an expectation that the people in the room will work together to build understanding by sharing their own knowledge and questions. Sessions are facilitated by anyone. Participants with experience are encouraged to speak up during sessions. Open dialogue and a willingness to share\, not planned presentations\, drive the learning at edcamps. \nBeyond professional learning\, prizes are sponsored by educational companies and vendors.
