SUMMARY:Collaborating for Inclusive Practices in Early Childhood: Focus on Attitudes and Beliefs
DESCRIPTION:This course looks at how our actions are shaped by our attitudes and beliefs\, and how societal attitudes and beliefs have shaped service systems. Participants will have opportunities to explore the benefits of inclusion for all children and all adults\, reflect on how their individual attitudes and beliefs were developed\, and how they impact their practice\, their colleagues and the service system. They will identify strategies teachers can use to create a sense of belonging for all children in the classroom\, explore perceptions about disability and reflect on how attitudes and beliefs impact early care and education practices. \nSession Details\n\n\nSession Date: March 30 | 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. \n\n\nLocation: 5604 Solway Street\, Pittsburgh\, PA 15217 \n\n\nInstructor: Shawna Mohler and Jillian Miller \n\n\nStandards: Child Development and Learning in Context\, Professionalism as an Early Childhood Educator \n\n\nRegistration\nRegistration is now open. In an effort to be more accommodating for instructors outside of classroom hours\, the Library has a standing open house on the first Saturday of each month from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. \n  \nLibrary Access\nVisitors can park in the lot on the right side of the building\, or on the street. Please do not park in the Carriage House Children’s Center parent pick up and drop off spots. \nTo enter the building\, please come to the side entrance on the right side of the building. From the directory\, please page to find “Lending Library” and follow the instructions on the pin pad to dial the Library. A staff member will buzz you in. If you are unable to reach someone from the directory\, please call or text Allison at 412-515-4988. NOTE: Face masks are required to enter the building and must be worn at all times inside. Take the stairs or elevator to the second floor and make a left. The Library is located in room 204 on the right hand side. \n\nChecking Out\n\n\n\nPick the items you want to borrow. \n\n\nUse a smartphone to scan the QR code on one of the items to access the check out form.
