Lead Early: Parent Leadership Series
Event Navigation
The Lead Early Initiative will host a series of four upcoming sessions on how navigate early intervention.
The initiative was created to empower family members engaged in early intervention services for children, birth to age 5.
Participants in the sessions will learn how to:
- Successfully navigate infant-toddler and preschool early intervention
- Learn how to lead the change that they would like to see to make sure early intervention works for everyone.
During the sessions, participants will learn how to build a strong foundation in family advocacy by understanding disability rights and defining advocacy goals, learning how Pennsylvania’s early intervention system works and how to navigate barriers to support, learning about the transition to kindergarten and ways to promote inclusion in preschool, and turning advocacy into action by using data and exploring ways to create change while prioritizing self-care.
The sessions will run from noon to 1:30 p.m. on the following Tuesdays:
- September 29 (Advocacy Mindset and Shared Purpose)
- October 6 (How Early Intervention Works)
- October 13 (Navigating Systems and Accessing Services)
- October 20 (Using Your Voice to Make Change)
