Child and Adolescent Bipolar Services Conference

Thursday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm

Join UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital on October 7 for their “Child and Adolescent Bipolar Services Conference” to learn about the diagnosis of pediatric bipolar disorder and treatment options.

Child and Adolescent Bipolar Disorder

Early and correct diagnosis is critical in youth with Bipolar Spectrum Disorders. However, due to the fact that other psychiatric disorders may manifest with similar symptoms, it can be challenging to make an accurate diagnosis. Join UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital on October 7 to hear information regarding the diagnosis of bipolar disorders and treatment options for pediatric bipolar disorder with comorbid conditions.

What topics will be discussed?

This conference is suitable for a wide range of audiences, including professionals, families, and parents. Presenters will discuss the following topics and more:

    • comorbidity in pediatric bipolar disorder,
    • what is new in bipolar disorders in youth,
    • predicting bipolar disorder in at-risk youth,
    • links between physical and mental health,
    • perspectives from family members of children with pediatric bipolar disorder,
    • psychosocial and medication management, and
    • navigating care options.
