This UnConference focuses on the importance of literacy and writing in a young child’s education. We are excited to share that celebrated artist and children’s author of the book Press Here, Hervé Tullet, joins us as keynote speaker! Enjoy a unique reading of Mr. Tullet’s books and hear his thoughts on how literature and art can expand the learning and world of children. Then, join Mr. Tullet in creating a one-of-a-kind piece of art. This keynote has been generously underwritten by Naomi Weisberg Siegel and Eric C. Cooper. Along with our co-host Frick Art & Historical Center, the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Museum of Art present hands-on workshop sessions which incorporate literacy in meaningful and innovative ways into the classroom. The workshops are developmentally appropriate practice for educators and caregivers working with children ages birth through age nine. However, many of the workshop offerings can also apply to students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The day closes with a round table discussion and reflections on how to continue our work beyond the UnConference. Keynote Speaker PAEYC is excited to host this UnConference with our partners at Frick Art & Historical Center, the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, and Carnegie Museum of Art. The day begins with keynote speaker Hervé Tullet, acclaimed artist and children’s author. Learn more about Hervé. How to Register Please register now to reserve your space!
