Hotline Helps Families in Need of Support

The Pittsburgh Learning Collaborative (PLC) Family Hotline is a available for families in the region who need help navigating the system or need general supports.

About the Family Hotline

Representatives from A+ Schools, ARYSE, Lawrenceville United, the Latino Community Center, and the Boys & Girls Club will be fielding calls to answer questions and offer support to families about:

  • online learning and your child’s school
  • tutoring or homework help
  • getting access to technology or the internet
  • youth workforce opportunities
  • food and school supplies distributions
  • other support for academic or personal needs

Representatives will answer calls live during the following hours:

  • Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Calls can be received 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If a representative doesn’t answer, callers can leave a voicemail and expect a call back within 48 hours on weekdays.

Support Available Through Family Hotline

Need assistance in navigating the academic and personal needs of those in your household? Call this Family Hotline offered by the Pittsburgh Learning Collaborative.

In August 2020, A+ Schools, ARYSE, Lawrenceville United, the Latino Community Center, the Boys & Girls Club, and Heinz Fellows launched their new Family Hotline to answer questions and offer support to families as they navigate the academic and personal needs of those in their household.

The Hotline is available in 14 languages, including English, Spanish, Uzbek, Swahili, Nepali, Tigrinya, Kinyarwanda, Mandarin, Hindi, Burmese, French, Dari, Portuguese, and Arabic. Calls can be received 24/7. A representative may answer your call, but if not, please leave a voicemail. You will receive a call back within 48 hours on weekdays. Voicemails can be left in any language.

Vote School Board First! Fundraiser

Mingle with members of Vote School Board First! coalition organizations to learn more about why they are involved, what issues they care about most, and why you should care too!

Light appetizers will be provided. Cocktails will be available for purchase.

About the Fundraiser

Happening at Wigle Whiskey Distillery on Monday, May 6 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., this event is an opportunity to learn more about and donate to the Vote School Board First! 2019 campaign. A portion of all drinks and bottle sales will be donated.
