Through the Institute for Early Childhood Career Pathways, Trying Together guides early care and education professionals in determining their next steps career steps. This interactive tool is designed to showcase the wide range of career opportunities available in early childhood education and childcare across Southwestern Pennsylvania. When you use this tool, you have the opportunity to learn more about jobs in the field and map out your own unique career pathway. It’s simple to use – just follow these steps:
- To get started, locate your current (or aspirational) job on the map and hover your cursor over the job title.
- From here, you can either select “Details” to learn more (including salary, skills and requirements, and training programs), or click the arrows to begin creating a career pathway.
- If you’ve chosen to create a pathway, follow the generated path to see the additional job opportunities that lead from your initial job selection. Click the job title you’re interested in to add it to your customized pathway. Continue until you’ve mapped your dream career pathway!
- Once you’ve mapped your career pathway, scroll down to see a list of educational programs to help you advance your career. Click the “Save it and Share it” button to save your career pathway.
- Not yet sure what you want your career pathway to look like? Click “Clear Map” to start over and explore different options!
