November 13, 2023 Trying Together Recipient of Gismondi Excellence Award On Thursday, November 9, Trying Together won the Gismondi Excellence Award and received a $5,000 gift from the Gismondi Family Foundation as part of the Greater Pittsburgh Nonprofit Summit. The Gismondi Excellence Awards were presented to five organizations working to improve the lives of people at risk for food insecurity, racial discrimination, and other social challenges. May 31, 2023 Pennsylvania Women Work Accepting Nominations for 2023 Circle of Hope Awards Pennsylvania Women Work invites members of the community to nominate groups, organizations, and individuals for two of its 2023 Circle of Hope Awards: the Corporate Volunteerism Award and the Diversity & Inclusion Award. The Corporate Volunteerism Award recognizes an organization or individual(s) within a company that has made significant contributions to PA Women Work’s clients, programs, fundraising, and overall mission through volunteerism, while the Diversity and Inclusion Award honors a corporation or individual(s) within a company that has made significant contributions in the area of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. All nominations must be made using the online nomination form by June 23. Award Criteria and Nomination Process Corporate Volunteerism Award Criteria A strong commitment to the mission and vision of PA Women Work Demonstrated consistent volunteerism with the organization for at least one year Displayed passion for empowering women to succeed in the workforce through volunteerism with PA Women Work A history of participation in at least two PA Women Work volunteer activities Nomination Process To nominate a group, organization, or individual for the Corporate Volunteerism Award, complete the online nomination form including the following in your nomination: A narrative (no more than 300 words) explaining why the corporation, individual or group should be highlighted for their volunteerism efforts with PA Women Work. May 3, 2019 Call for Nominations: 2019 PACCA Awards PACCA is accepting nominations for the 2019 Educator of the Year and the Award of Excellence. The awards recognize contributions made by PACCA members to the early care and education profession. Members and non-members may make nominations. About the Awards The Educator of the Year Award The Educator of the Year Award honors outstanding service and accomplishments in the delivery of services to children. It is given to an individual at a PACCA member agency who has contributed significantly to the direct care and education of young children. We are seeking nominations for both center-based and family child care educators. It is suggested that the person has been a teacher for at least three years. The Award of Excellence The Award of Excellence honors outstanding service and accomplishments in the field of administration. The award is presented to a member of PACCA who has demonstrated qualities of vision (ability to see possibilities for making things happen and communicating this vision to others), teamwork (ability to work with and support others) and leadership (willingness to reach out to benefit the child care community). It is suggested that the person has been a director, executive director, administrator, or owner for three years.
