April 7, 2025 An Evening with Andrea Viduarre: Voices for a Sustainable Tomorrow Part of Women for a Healthy Environment’s 15th anniversary celebrations, this event will feature 2024 Goldman Environmental Prize winner Andrea Vidaurre as its keynote speaker. Vidaurre is a climate justice advocate who took on the trucking industry and won. She is the co-founder of People’s Collective for Environmental Justice and has led efforts that will phase out diesel trucks by 2035. The event will also include storytelling and a focus on young changemakers. It will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 1 at Phipps Conservatory. Tickets for the event can be purchased online.
July 8, 2024 Environmental Justice Resource Fair The Homewood Brushton YMCA will host an Environmental Justice Resource Fair in August. Learn More Attendees will learn innovative ways to promote sustainability, advocate for a cleaner environment, and foster social equity. The event will feature resources, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities to connect with individuals who share a passion for environmental justice. Food and childcare will be provided. The event will also include a number of giveaways. Topics will include everything from water quality solutions to waste reduction strategies. The event will equip attendees with the knowledge and tools needed to make a positive impact. More Details The Environmental Justice Resource Fair will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10.
