Attendees will be able to learn about the university’s bachelor’s degree educational tracks in Early Childhood PreK-4 and Early Development and Learning during the open houses.
The dates and times for the open houses are:
- Monday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m. on Zoom
- Tuesday, May 20 at 1:30 p.m. on Zoom
More information on the programs can be found on Carlow University’s website for the Early Childhood Education degree program. According to the website, Carlow is one of the few private schools that accepts such state-sponsored scholarship opportunities as TEACH, Rising Stars, and PASSHE.

The Pittsburgh Scholar House will hold an open house at The Center for Family Excellence in September.

The Pittsburgh Scholar House will join the Hill District community for the event, where attendees can enjoy refreshments and take part in a tour of the space. They will also meet the center’s staff and learn about resources to support the educational journey.
The event will also be an opportunity to celebrate the first cohort of Wayfinders University scholars. This eight-week course was launched in July and is designed to provide foundational support for future educational endeavors.

The event will run from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the Center for Family Excellence, located at 409 Dinwiddie St. in Pittsburgh.

COTRAIC is hosting open hours at four locations on May 17 for its Head Start and PreK preschool programs for the 2024-25 school year.

Attendees will be able to meet COTRAIC staff, tour classrooms, learn about programs, and engage in family fun activities. COTRAIC Head Start and PreK services are available at no cost to eligible families with children ages three to five.
Eligibility includes children whose families are at or below the federal poverty guidelines or who receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Security Income, or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) public assistance services. Other eligible children are those who are in the foster care system or experiencing homelessness.
