Fight the Flu with DU

Getting a flu vaccine this fall is more important than ever. Fall flu shots are available at the Homewood Early Learning Hub & Family Center, in partnership with Duquesne University School of Pharmacy and UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. There is no cost with most major insurances. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and all participants will be required to wear a mask.

Walk-In Flu Vaccines Available in Pittsburgh

The Allegheny County Immunization Clinic is offering walk-in flu vaccinations at their location in Pittsburgh from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The CDC recommends that every person aged six months and older receive an annual flu vaccination to reduce their risk of experiencing and spreading illness during flu season.

About

The flu vaccine is available to insured, underinsured, and uninsured Allegheny County residents. The walk-in clinic is for flu vaccines only. An appointment is required for all other vaccinations and services. To schedule an appointment, please call 412.578.8062.

Anyone wishing to receive a flu vaccine should bring a form of identification and their insurance card (if applicable) with them. Face coverings are required. Additional evening hours will be available on Thursdays from 4 – 7 p.m.

Clinic Location

The Allegheny County Immunization Clinic is located on the fourth floor of the Hartley-Rose Building at 425 First Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh. The entrance to the building is on Cherry Way.

Clinic Closures

The clinic will be closed on the following days:

    • Monday, October 12, 2020 (Columbus Day)
    • Wednesday, November 11, 2020 (Veteran’s Day)
    • Thursday, November 26, 2020 (Thanksgiving)

Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Medical Clinic

Don’t let your child fall behind on their needed immunizations. Visit the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile to access vaccinations for children ages two months through high school, receive WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) form assistance, learn important health and safety information, and more.

About the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile

UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, UPMC Children’s Community Pediatrics, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh and Morgantown are partnering to bring needed vaccines, safely, to western Pennsylvania communities through the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile.

Appropriate physical distancing measures will be maintained. Please give yourself adequate time in case of a wait. Adults and children over age two are asked to arrive wearing a mask. A mask will be provided if you do not have one. Children must be accompanied by one parent or legal guardian.

Services Provided

The following services will be available:

    • vaccinations, ages two months through high school;
    • WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) form assistance;
    • health and safety information;
    • kindergarten registration information;
    • at-home activities for summertime; and
    • food and infant formula resources.
