Virtual American Sign Language Program in Greensburg

The Greensburg Hempfield Area Library is offering an eight-week virtual Introduction to American Sign Language program for children ages seven through twelve or thirteen years old and older in partnership with the Center for Deaf and Hearing Services Inc.

Please note that this program is intended for individuals and families who live in or near the Greensburg community. The program will include free instructional materials and a book that will need to be picked up at the Greensburg Hempfield Area Library.

During these programs, instructor (and local Deaf college student) Hannah Ahearn will teach participants the basics of how to communicate using American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture. Since participants will be building on skills learned, please only register if you are able to commit to attending at least seven of the eight sessions.
