Cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting products can cause serious irritation to the lungs and trigger – or even cause – asthma. Even those marked as “green” can cause pollution in the air, water, and soil.
In early childcare centers, it is important to make sure that materials and surfaces are properly cleaned, sanitized, and disinfected with products that are non-aerosol, fragrance-free, and have all ingredients listed on the label or are available on the website.
In the session, the instructor will discuss the differences of cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting as well as the negative effects of current cleaning products. Examples will be provided of alternate products that can be used by educators.
The session will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
There is limited space for the class, so registration is required.
Breathe PA invites Early Learning Center Staff and Directors to join them for an allergy, asthma, and classroom inclusion webinar. This two-hour online education and training will define and differentiate asthma and allergy; describe allergy symptoms and treatment; and explain the impact on children.
