Resilient Fathers Series

Join The Homewood Early Learning Hub & Family Center for 8 weeks of activities where Resilient Fathers will grow and continue to overcome the negative impact of COVID-19, learning and playing with their young children along the way. Register on the Trying Together website. Child care provided. $50 will be awarded to the first 10 fathers who enroll (must attend all sessions).

Session 1: Fathers will learn how they can support a child experiencing grief/loss.

  • July 12, 2021 | 6-7 p.m.

Session 2: Fathers will learn of activities to celebrate those who have transitioned.

  • July 19, 2021 | 6-7 p.m.

Session 3: Fathers will learn strategies to monitor their child’s overall development.

  • July 26, 2021 | 6-7 p.m.

Session 4: Fathers will learn how to maximize their child’s their child’s achievement through education and advocacy sharing.

  • August 2, 2021 | 6-7 p.m.

Session 5: Fathers will learn simple age/developmentally appropriate ways to stay active.

  • August 9, 2021 | 6-7 p.m.

Session 6: Fathers will learn strategies for developing a healthy lifestyle with their child.

  • August 16, 2021 | 6-7 p.m.

Session 7: Fathers will learn how to grow fruits and vegetables. Fathers and children will explore healthy eating habits because you are what you eat.

  • August 23, 2021 | 6-7 p.m.

Session 8: Fathers will learn about growing/farming produce. Fathers will receive the materials necessary to plant and grow vegetables/fruits of their choice with their child.

Addresses the consequences of Father Absence and or Father Non-Involvement, and the need to move forward, a diverse group of expert panelists will help participants to unravel the question, “Are Fathers intentionally included, or not, in Pennsylvania’s child and family services and programming that are designed to enhance well-being outcomes for both?”
