Music Makers: Hands-On Musical Exploration with Pittsburgh Festival Opera

Join the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh as they host special guests from Pittsburgh Festival Opera! Enjoy an opera storytime, a performance, and hands-on musical exploration! Sing, dance and play with others to discover new rhythms! This program is drop-in, so guests can come and go as they please! This program is designed for our youngest learners (0-5) but is suitable for all ages.

Music Makers: Handmade Symphony

Join the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh in the Nursery for an hour of hands-on musical exploration. Use different materials to invent your very own instrument and join our Handmade Symphony! What will you hear when the sounds combine? This program is drop-in, so feel free to come and go as you please!

Open Wide the Circle! Musical Games for Early Learning Fun

Musical games can provide so many rich benefits to children’s social and cognitive development! This interactive workshop will model how educators can integrate musical games in their early childhood classrooms to support their students at various levels of play. During this engaging workshop, educators will participate in a variety of musical games, including parallel play games, circle and line games. There will be plenty of fingerplays, too! Educators will be able to identify connections to early literacy and math concepts. Act 48 and PQAS credit hours available.

P.R.I.D.E. Pop Up Mini Art Festival

Visit the P.R.I.D.E. Pop Up Mini Art festivals and experience fun activities designed to help young Black children learn about and celebrate their race, culture, and heritage. Children ages 3 to 8 will enjoy activity stations designed by trained artists and educators. Families are invited to enjoy free food, performances, art, and music!
