Educators’ Neighborhood Community Sharing Event: Music and Sounds

Are you interested in discussing the relevance and impact of Fred Rogers’ approach with music and sounds for children, families, and educator-helpers? Join the Fred Rogers Center on Thursday, February 4 for their event, “Educators’ Neighborhood Community Sharing Event: Music and Sounds.”

During this Educators’ Neighborhood Community Sharing Event, participants will discuss the relevance and impact of Fred Rogers’ approach with music and sounds for children, families, and educator-helpers. Participants will watch segments of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood episodes and learn from a panel of practicing educators.

Let’s Chat About Early Language and Literacy

Join the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) and Early Intervention Technical Assistance (EITA) from January through March 2021 for their 30-minute “Let’s Chat About Early Language and Literacy” webinars.

These 30-minute webinars will be offered at no cost to participants. Each session will be offered at 8:30 a.m. and repeated at 1:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Fridays of each month. This series runs from January through March 2021. Chat topics will include the following:

Music Makers: Nature Sounds

Join the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh in the Nursery for an hour of hands-on musical exploration. Experience the beautiful sounds of the natural world such as rain, birdsong, wind and running water and invent your own instruments using a variety of natural materials. Discover how music is everywhere if we just take the time to listen!

This program is designed for our youngest learners (0-5) but is suitable for all ages. The event is drop-in, so guests may come and go as they please! For more information, visit the event page!

Music Makers: Handmade Symphony

Join the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh in the Nursery for an hour of hands-on musical exploration. Use different materials to invent your very own instrument and join our Handmade Symphony! What will you hear when the sounds combine? This program is drop-in, so feel free to come and go as you please!

Let’s Chat About Early Language and Literacy

The PA Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) and Early Intervention Technical Assistance (EITA) are hosting chat sessions during the winter months to discuss early language and literacy development topics.

Join these 30-minute online chat sessions, offered at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., to discover resources to share with families and implement in your classroom or center. These sessions will take place on the second and fourth Friday of every month from January through March 2019.
