COVID-19 Supplies Distribution Event for Child Care Providers

About

Trying Together, Global Links, and Early Learning Resource Center (ELRC) Region 5 are partnering to ensure that 650 licensed child care operators in Allegheny County are fully equipped with the protective and cleaning supplies they need to maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for children and employees.

All licensed child care providers in Allegheny County are eligible to receive cleaning supplies and safety equipment. Providers must have their tax identification (EIN) numbers read for staff at the distribution site.

What’s Included

Child care operators are invited to visit a distribution location to receive:

    • an infrared, no-touch thermometer;
    • gloves for diaper changes and cleaning;
    • hand sanitizer;
    • disinfectant;
    • reusable cloth masks;
    • reusable clear plastic face shield; and
    • one case of tissues.

Registration

To ensure enough supplies are available, please register for the date and location of your choice via the PPE Supply Pickup Form. Each provider must sign up separately. Providers with multiple locations should sign up for each program, specifying the program name on each form.

PBEOC: Back to School Celebration

Join the Pittsburgh Black Elected Officials Coalition (PBEOC) for their Back to School Celebration!

About

This celebration serves as the sixth in a series of monthly meetings with PBEOC members. At the celebration, members will share highlights on their 2018 activities on behalf of the residents of Pittsburgh, as well as next inclusive steps.

This meeting is intended for residents in Pittsburgh and will feature free school supplies, cash prize giveaways, entertainment, and parent and student resources. Additional resources and opportunities in alignment with the education section of the Pittsburgh Peace and Justice Initiative will be shared with the community.

5th Annual Back to School Giveaway

Join Pennsylvania State Representative Ed Gainey on Saturday, August 17 at Destiny International Ministry for the 5th Annual Back to School Giveaway!

About

Pittsburgh students should start the 2019 school year off right! Students in grades K through 5 who stop by on August 17 will receive a backpack and school supplies. In addition, families will enjoy helpful information on state programs for kids, safety information, food, and music.

Students must be present to receive a backpack. All are welcome.

4th Annual Autism Awareness Fun Day

Families are invited to join together on August 11 for the 4th Annual Autism Awareness Fun Day.

About

This event will feature free fun activities, resources for the whole family, and a variety of vendors to explore and shop at. Participating kids eat free and will receive backpacks filled with school supplies while supplies last!
