The Family Care and Education Forum is open to all caregivers, which Trying Together defines as any adult who interacts with young children. Users are encouraged to review Trying Together’s Social Media Policy and Privacy Policy prior to creating an account. While the focus of the Forum in the coming months will be Southwestern Pennsylvania, the Forum is open to all regions.

All early learning, after school, summer camp, and virtual program educators and providers in Allegheny County are invited to create or update their program profile on Allegheny Child Care.
Providers can add, view, and edit their profile listing at providers.alleghenychildcare.org.
In particular, programs are asked to update their:
Once a program administrator has used the tool to adjust or confirm their listing, they will receive regular email or text reminders to update their vacancy information so parents can search for and find their program. By updating program information, the tool assists directors and owners with promoting and marketing their programs to families and helps to expedite the process for getting children enrolled. Families who use the tool are then able to more easily find their desired program making an often stressful task less burdensome.

The Allegheny Child Care initiative is: managed by Trying Together in partnership with the Allegheny County Department of Human Services and Allegheny Partners for Out-of-School Time (APOST); with additional support from the City of Pittsburgh; and was developed in collaboration with Child Care Aware of America, The Heinz Endowments, and technology partners Bowtie, BrightHive, and BridgeCare.

Allegheny Child Care is a unique pilot project that was developed to support the care and education needs of families. Caregivers and parents of young children can search available spots at all early learning, after school, summer camp, and virtual programs in Allegheny County in real-time with the Allegheny Child Care, After School, and Summer Camps finder tool.

The Allegheny Child Care Finder Tool was funded through the generous support of The Heinz Endowments and Eden Hall Foundation and is managed by Trying Together in partnership with the Allegheny County Department of Human Services and Allegheny Partners for Out-of-School Time (APOST).
